COURSE STRUCTURE The learning is structured for maximum learner engagement This course has been designed as a blended learning model, using both online and offline learning approaches 1. All Individuals start to learn by accessng the web-based sections of the course.   This enables training on topic awareness and knowledge.  Then,  armed with knowledge and tools downloaded from  the course, the individual completes a series of risk identification tasks,  forming ideas as to solutions at their fingertips. Now empowered to help make decisions,  your employees then come together as a group to share and learn in another learning environment. strenthening the awareness of the problem.  2. Collaborative Team Work  Required participation: Two group meetings Resource:   A Team Co-ordinator/Team Leader As this short course progresses, the employees need to come together, to share their thoughts and the learnings, so a working team is formed around each issue or task. The team leaders role is to co-ordinate these short meetings  that will give each employee the opportunity to be heard.  (the identification of any particular risk or to raise a relevant point.) Remember the learning objective here is that: they identify all areas at risk in their workplace consider how and then agree on a hygiene regime to eliminate those risks. teams will be able to download all relevance documents for their tasks. includes posters, signs for your workplace area Learners will prepare for these meetings. Each will complete task sheets and bring them to the group . One.: An Introduction to Pandemic Preparedness The Introductory Module deals with the What and the Why Module Assessment Mod. Two How the Virus Impacts Humans Deals with How the Virus Impacts Humans – this is to raise their level of awareness of how serious the threat is not only to the learner personally and to their colleagues and families and the economy. Module Assessment Mod. Three Precautions Every Employee Needs to Take Overviews all the precautions every employee will need to take to keep our workplaces safe.  New workplace cleaning regimes and strict personal hygiene codes. The key focus here is on our first line of defence – clean hands.  Collaborative exercises and hygiene posters are provided and are down loadable . Module Assessment Mod. Four: What to do if A Risk is Identified This module presents codes of conduct that will be expected should a pandemic hit.  This applies to personal risk areas and well as  how office behaviour must change in order to avoid putting other people at risk! Module Assessment Mod. Five How to Use Assertiveness to protect your rights and the rights of others. Covers basic human rights and assertiveness.  This module focuses on empowering the learner to speak up in a pandemic situation, should they be aware of an ‘at risk’ situation.  This skill base will be essential in a pandemic to ensure that no risk area is overlooked. Module Assessment  Offline Team Collaboration Tools >      The New Zealand Employees Pandemic Preparedness Course provides these  Tools for Offline Team Collaborations A set of Checklists and guidelines to download and work independently for one or two stages of the exercise (depending on what the task is).   When a collaborative meeting is called for the floor/department/company by the supervisor, the learner is skilled enough to participate in the collaborative discussion and state their point of view. The checklists enable each meeting to progress and consensus reached. Clearly here the learning process of collaborative discussion is central to this course.
