Medical Sciences & Research Auckland University The New Zealand Immunisation Advisory Centre - Case study >>        July 2003 -Immunisation NZ had a challenge.  New Zealand had developed a unique strain of meningitis. The disease had already killed 220 New Zealanders and affected thousands of other young people since it started.  A vaccine was underway. The NZ Government was working to approve the roll-out of New Zealand's largest immunisation programme - to 1.15 million children and young people.   IMAC were tasked with training the medical profession nationwide on the management and storage of the new vaccine. They needed to: - establish a digital content repository - create a 'Immunisation Training Programme for General Practitioners, Nurses and non clinical practioners nationwide'.  However since the original project had 28 individual writers, progress was slow and it became clear that they would not hit their targets in time.
